Challenging the status quo on password fields

So I’m looking at Thomas Fuchs new “no thrills” stand alone CSS animation framework Émile, and I decided to check out what he’s been doing lately, namely Freckle. As soon as I entered the signup form I was struck by this attention to details:

The way they handle password fields is a breath of fresh air from the standard way which they also have an option for:

Someone could possibly see my screen maybe 10% of the time, so I think this is really cool. I’m excited to see what else is in store for me using this service.

This also reminded me of a nice implementation of a iPhone-like password field.
